Rest in Peace, Mr. Alusaine K. Deen, a leader and mentor in the Boston African Immigrant Community.

Mr. Alusain K. Deen was the executive director of African and American Friendship, Inc., a youth development organization in the Roslindale and Mattapan area of Boston, Massachusetts. His work among the Sierra Leone immigrants to the area and in support of people back in Sierra Leone, especially his beloved Freetown, Sierra Leone, was inspirational.

He helped me become involved with Non-Profit work and guided me in my transition from Middle level marketing manager at an Internet Startup to Technology Center Director at the Taunton Boys' And Girls' Club.

His students always spoke highly of his humble and quiet ways. All those who worked with him appreciated his earnest and forthright efforts on all matter of social justice and entrepreneurial education initiatives.

His dedication to cultural events made him a sought after leader for cultural events and moments of celebration around his community.

I will miss Mr. Alusaine K. Deen. He did as much as he could for as long as he could with all the smarts and resources at his disposal. For that reason and for so many more reasons, his friendship with everyone will be missed. Never have I known a more dedicated leader, mentor, and administrator.
