OUR HISTORY
As we remember the powerful witness of Rev. Kirby Hensley and his vision of the church...

Rev. Kirby Hensley founded the Universal Life Church during a tumultuous time in American history, a time of war and peace demonstrations, a time of Civil Rights marches and spiritual awakening.

The Universal Life Church Monastery Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Clergy Association is the most recent name of what was formerly known as the Universal Life Church Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Clergy-persons Association. Founded in 2003, as a Yahoo Group sharing religious articles, opportunities and issues related to the LGBT community.  We have gone through a mighty metamorphosis...  updating our Yahoo Group based online forum to a Facebook Group page, and adding new members who come from the clergy, artist, journalist, activist and faith and community leader community.  We are a diverse knowledge base as well as a clergy association dedicated to the LGBTI community.

We are one!

We are from many backgrounds, faiths, paths, denominations and traditions but we are all children of the same universe.

Starting in February of 2018 we have started to be known by our new name,
The Interfaith Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Clergy Association, which reflects the multifaith background of our members and our wish to bridge the differences and divides which separate us, so that we can be one.
